Today, September 20, is World Clean Up Day—a day dedicated to uniting volunteers worldwide in efforts to clean up their local environments. This year, millions of volunteers around the globe took action to make their communities cleaner, and we are proud of the contributions from our offices.
Throughout the week leading up to September 20, our global teams embraced the spirit of this event, coming together to enhance our local surroundings and contribute to a cleaner planet. Our offices documented their efforts with photos and shared brief write-ups about their activities. Every action, no matter how small, plays a significant role in our collective goal of creating a cleaner and greener world. We commend all our offices for their dedication and look forward to sharing the details of their local cleanup initiatives.

Following their efforts, the team enjoyed a healthy lunch from a local bakery, marking a successful day of teamwork. Appreciation goes out to all participants for their commitment to this initiative.

In Middlesbrough, the office and warehouse teams dedicated their lunch break on September 19 to World Clean Up Day. Participants enjoyed a walk around the nearby industrial estate, engaging in conversations while collecting litter along the way. Within just 30 minutes, a significant amount of waste was removed. The day concluded with a pizza lunch back at the office, and thanks are extended to everyone involved in enhancing the local environment.

Bertling Dubai
The Dubai team participated in the Emirates Environmental Group’s “Clean UAE” campaign, reinforcing their commitment to environmental protection. Volunteers focused on designated areas, removing waste including vehicle tires, rugs, and broken glass while promoting responsible disposal practices. After the cleanup, the waste was sorted for recycling. Gratitude is expressed to all who took part in positively impacting the local landscape.
Bertling Sweden
Bertling Sweden is taking World Clean Up Day to new heights with engaging activities from September 16 to 22. A competition encourages participants to earn points by collecting waste (5,000 points per bag) and steps (1 point per step). All participants will be invited to a communal lunch, and the top performer will receive a special prize. Additionally, a seminar was held with CleanSea, focusing on waste management challenges, particularly regarding plastics in the ocean. The partnership with CleanSea extends into the year with the "100 for the Ocean" project, targeting local cleanup efforts in the Gothenburg area.
Thank you to everyone who participated in these initiatives! Your efforts make a real difference in creating cleaner communities. Together, let’s continue to make an impact!
Bertling Colombia
Bertling's Bogota staff held their Cleanup Day on 20 September. The area chosen was in the area of influence where the office is located, and it was carried out in coordination with the administration of the North Point office complex. This is the first of a series of days that will be carried out with other companies in the area - among which are O&G companies, EPC, among others, that share our principles of sustainability and the environment, and the common commitment to integrate into local communities and support the most vulnerable.
It was a productive day where the journey on foot was approximately 1.8 km, and we managed to contribute to the cleaning of an area of about 6,000 m2, with a volume of waste collected that was unfortunately quite voluminous for a day of just over an hour. But we are sure that these actions are positive and educational examples for the communities and areas of influence, and we are sure and optimistic that every day the support, participation and commitment that we will obtain will increase. This was just one more step in making our local environment a better place for everyone.
Bertling South Africa
The enthusiastic South Africa team took on the challenge to clean up our office grounds. On Friday, 27th of September the Johannesburg & Durban offices respectively came together to not only fulfil a sustainability metric, more importantly coming together as a team with a common goal of actively creating a clean & healthy environment.
Bertling Aberdeen
The Aberdeen team recently took part in a local clean-up initiative, making use of litter-picking equipment provided by the local council. Over several days, groups focused on cleaning the area around the office, collecting a substantial amount of waste. This initiative highlights our commitment to positively contributing to the local community and enhancing the surrounding environment.
