Our colleagues from Al Khaldi-Bertling Logistics Ltd. are excited to attend the IKTVA 2023 Forum & Exhibition this week. They are joined by our CEO of Bertling Logistics, Colin MacIsaac, who is in Saudi Arabia for the whole week to meet with our JV Partner, Al Khaldi, and to visit other local logistics partners and potential customers.
Colin and Richard Brown, the General Manager of our JV Office in Saudi Arabia, are both at the IKTVA Conference today, 1 February 2023, to stay on top of the localization requirements for companies doing business in Saudi Arabia. Here are some pictures from the conference today:

ABOUT IKTVA
IKTVA stands for “In-Kingdom Total Value Add” and is a local program developed by Saudi Aramco, the 6th largest company in the world by revenue and Saudi Arabia’s leading public petroleum and natural gas company, to baseline, measure, and support increased levels of localization in Saudi Arabia. The goal is to create domestic value, maximize long-term growth, diversification, and future prosperity for the growing population and economy of Saudi Arabia. It is a well-established and recognized standard for benchmarking companies doing business in Saudi Arabia.
This year’s IKTVA Conference takes place from 30 January – 2 February and is headed by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The goal of the conference is to keep companies with businesses in the Kingdom fully informed about the most recent IKTVA requirements in line with the latest economic trends and developments.
“Saudi Arabia’s ‘Beyond Oil Program’ is critical for the diversification (especially in non-oil sectors), modernization and well-being of the local business environment and society. The empowerment and employment of nationals (including women), the expansion of the private sector as well as the ease of doing business in the country and the increased support of local suppliers and partners are key of the Kingdom’s future vision and also anchored in the ambitions of our JV company. Local content is the key to success in Saudi Arabia.”

BERTLING IN SAUDI ARABIA
Bertling Logistics and Al Khaldi formed their new joint venture company Al Khaldi-Bertling Logistics Ltd. back in 2021. The main purpose of Al Khaldi-Bertling Logistics Ltd. will be to jointly explore new and existing business opportunities in KSA in both the oil & gas, the broader developing energy industries and non-oil sector – in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 Strategy and IKTVA program.
Both JV partners have been in the industry for many years and have a long history of working in KSA. While Bertling’s focus is on global project logistics and transport engineering solutions, Al Khaldi primarily specializes in local logistics/trucking services and transport vehicle supply.
In doing so, Al Khaldi will contribute its strong local logistics expertise, wide-spread partner network and modern transport vehicle fleet, while Bertling will bring in its global office and supplier network, modern IT infrastructure and a varied project expertise in Saudi Arabia, neighbouring regions and other foreign trade countries and partners of KSA (like South Korea, China and India) to contribute to the success of the JV.
Of special value will be the in-house customs clearance department of Al Khaldi-Bertling Logistics Ltd, which will enable the company to offer door-to-door service, advice and documentation services to their local and global client base.
“Saudi Arabia has always been an important market for Bertling, and our global team is passionate about all the new business opportunities arising in the country.”
Richard Brown, General Manager of Al Khaldi-Bertling Logistics Ltd.
