December is a time for charity and volunteering, and we encourage all our offices to get involved in supporting meaningful causes.
At Bertling Logistics, corporate giving and other Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives are a priority. We are committed to supporting local and global charities and contributing to the well-being of communities in the countries where we operate.
Earlier this month, we invited our offices to share their volunteer and charity initiatives, and the initial response has been incredible. We’re proud to see some fantastic activities and heartwarming events from our teams worldwide.
Bertling Hamburg
As Christmas is the time of giving, we encouraged our global offices to support a local charity organization with a donation or volunteering. Here in Germany, we decided to support Hanseatic Help again, a volunteering organization supporting people in need. Especially during the winter season, the demand for warm clothing for men, women and children is huge, and we asked our colleagues to donate clothing and items like sleep bags or blankets.
Right before Christmas, we delivered the items to Hanseatic Help e.V. who were very happy to see us again and appreciate our continuous support. We then also volunteered for at their help store at the Ballindamm in Hamburg by unpacking donated items and distributing them in the store. It was heartwarming to see families waiting already for us to try on the latest winter clothes people donated.
We will keep supporting Hanseatic Help e.V. going forward. An overview of all their Help Projects can be found here: https://www.hanseatic-help.org/projekte/
Bertling Middlesbrough
Our team at the Middlesbrough Warehouse and office chose to support the local foodbank in Middlesbrough by donating what we could. Employees collected food, toiletries, and other items, which the warehouse team kindly delivered. The warehouse even crated the donations using scrap timber, and both the food and crates were gratefully received.
Over 90% of the food distributed by foodbanks in The Trussell Trust network is donated by the public. This generosity is essential to providing everyone referred to the foodbank with a balanced and nutritious three-day supply of food, especially at this time of year.
The initiative was strongly supported by everyone in Middlesbrough. Thank you for sharing these meaningful moments with us.
Bertling Sweden
Our team in Sweden participated in the Stadsmissionens julklappsinsamling (City Mission's Christmas gift collection) earlier this December. Our fantastic team gathered numerous wonderful Christmas gifts that will bring joy to families in need in Gothenburg. The team also joined when the Christmas gift trolley stopped near our office, personally handing over the Christmas gift bags to the families who needed them most.
Everyone deserves to celebrate Christmas, and Stadsmissionen works towards that every day. Through initiatives like food distribution, Christmas gift shops, and family activities, they are driving long-term change to help more people escape poverty.
Many thanks to the team in Sweden—you are an inspiration to us all.
Bertling Kazakhstan
The Bertling Kazakhstan team marked a meaningful start to the New Year by dedicating a "Day of Gratitude" to the hardworking utility workers who keep the city clean.
The team expressed heartfelt thanks to these often-overlooked heroes who ensure the city remains clean and comfortable, no matter the weather—be it scorching heat, freezing cold, rain, or snow. While most rest, they are tirelessly on the job, collecting waste, cleaning streets, and maintaining a livable environment.
To show appreciation, the team hosted a special lunch featuring traditional dishes like Beshbarmak and Baursaks. This small gesture acknowledged their dedication and expressed gratitude. Seeing their smiles and hearing their kind words was a powerful reminder of the impact of a simple “thank you.”
A big thank you to all the special utility workers for your tireless efforts—you truly make our world a better place!
