On November 12th, the Bertling Houston Team volunteered and participated in a charity cook-off event supporting Henry’s Home, Horse and Human Sanctuary. Henry’s Home is a local organization that adopts rescued and surrendered horses, giving them a forever home. Henry’s Home works closely with Veterans and First Responders through their Horses & Heroes Equine Learning Program. Henry’s Home brings together horses and humans for therapy and healing for all.
The cookoff was a great time and offered music, a Santa meet & greet, petting the animals, an auction, and game day festivities. Our employees and their families volunteered their time for the event to check in and register participants, serve food, and provide any assistance where needed. Cruz Perez, Keith Lincoln, and David Boozer led our cookoff team to victory taking Grand Champion overall and snagging first place in the ribs category and second place for chicken! It was a great day with great people and we are happy to support the cause. We look forward to participating again next year.
