Our Team in Houston voted on a charity to contribute to during the month of April. There were many great suggestions, but the majority vote was to donate to a local children’s hospital to support families with extended stays in the Cancer and Hematology Centers. Our colleagues were able to contribute two large overflowing baskets full of toys, puzzles, magazines, shampoos, soaps, toothbrushes, and other items to provide a sense of normalcy in an extended hospital environment.
Texas Children's Hospital, located in Houston, Texas, is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to create a healthier future for children and women throughout our global community by leading in patient care, education, and research. Texas Childrens Hospital is consistently ranked among the top children’s hospitals in the United States. Many colleagues in the Houston office have trusted Texas Childrens Hospital with caring for our own children and grandchildren, so it’s an organization very close to a lot of us. The work and care they provide is indescribable.
The donations specifically go to the Cancer and Hematology centers for patients and their caregivers to receive comfort items, toiletries, and fun activities during the course of their treatment.
