Where Does the Waste Go?
The imported waste is directed to advanced facilities for processing. At recycling plants, materials are sorted, cleaned, and transformed into new products. Waste-to-energy plants convert waste into energy through combustion or other recovery technologies. Biogas facilities process organic waste to produce biogas, a renewable energy source.
