We are excited to showcase another successful energy project handled: the shipment of a massive transformer, weighting 54.4 tons and accessories from Colombia to the USA.
POL: Cartagena, Colombia
POD: Savannah, USA
Industry: Power
Volume: 6m x 2.8m x 4.1m,
Bertling Team: USA
Our scope of work included the international freight handing, and in the USA we also took care of the, direct discharge from the vessel to a lowboy trailer, the delivery of all required documents, the inland transport from the port to the jobsite including all permits and the offloading at the jobsite.
Offloading the transformer using a 300-tonne capacity crane over pad was challenging, as the conditions at the jobsite were constantly changing and updating as additional construction continued around the unloading site. However, due to our proper transport plan and our Director of Inland Logistics, Keith Lincoln, attending the offloading process and offering his decades of experience, all went well, and the transformer & accessories could be installed at the jobsite on time.
